The Dust Connection - The House That Doesn't Exist

We sit around the table
Drinking tea and playing cards
Grandfather's laughing
'Cause he's got the queen of hearts
From out of her lazy chair
Grandmother's eyes are everywhere
She's eating an apple
The papers headlines resting on her knees

Then the doorbell rings
My aunt is home again
She steps right up to me
And praises me as her little man
Come sit beside me please
And tell me what's on your mind
What a pity the cat died
What a pity you didn't find
You didn't find

So beautiful
To walk this house that doesn't exist
So beautiful
To return to this place that I miss

So beautiful
This unknown world which exists through mine
So beautiful
A return from the dead and to defeat time

The old clock strikes twelve, together we say our prayers
The smell of supper, it's one of a kind
In the afternoon we're silent, only the caged bird sings
Repeating his whistle, a symphony in my mind
